Charity steps out for asylum seekers
Members of a Barnet borough refugee charity are seeking support as they prepare to join 3,000 walkers in a tour of London's legal landmarks next Monday.
Taking part in the London Legal Sponsored Walk will be the Attorney General, the Lord Chief Justice and the Master of the Rolls, among others.
Ahead of the event on May 19, Barnet Refugee Service (BRS) has raised almost £2,000 to improve the provision of legal advice to asylum seekers in Barnet who have fled persecution.
And they hope to bring the total up to £4,000.
The fourth annual event in central London is expected to attract a record number of walkers and collect a record sum for legal advice charities.
The route follows a 10km circle round London's legal buildings, starting at the Royal Courts of Justice at 5.30pm and ending at the Law Society.
