Does he want every road in the capital closed?

10:01am Tuesday 13th May 2003

Well, even I can understand your correspondent Mel Simpson's (Letters, April 24) logic by now he's absolutely correct: if you don't allow a single vehicle to travel down Partingdale Lane for six years, there will definitely be zero road accidents.

By inference, if there are fewer cars in the adjoining areas, accidents will also be dramatically reduced. We don't need an accident report analysis to work that one out! Applying this rationale, how about making London accident-free by closing every road?
